About

"I have always had a passion for rock formations as it occurs naturally in our environment. I was introduced to the skill of ‘simulated rock art’ as a young student when I was involved with the Sun City project of the then Cascades Hotel. This was the first of its kind and the largest landscaping project ever undertaken in South Africa. Inspired by this I knew that I had found my passion in this life.

You will find that the rock techniques used by RockaFellas will enrich the surrounding environment by using indigenous plant material. Good rock design isn't a mere fashion statement or a following of current fads but rather it is time that develops our rock work and realistic natural looking scenes that grace our landscapes.

The structure of a garden and the architecture of a home is very important to me as this will influence the end result which can be clearly seen in my creations. This design trait has come to be known as my signature style.

A highlight for me are visits to my older creations of which were designed more than 10 years ago. I now realise more than ever just how the creation of simulated rock is a discipline of patience interacting with time. It also emphasises that our rock work, unlike interior decor, actually improves with age.

Finally, to all our clients who have allowed RockaFellas to transform their landscapes and gardens, I thank you."
